Who is Daisy?
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
Some of my fondest memories were learning the real estate business with my father, a perpetual remodeler and top-producing agent. Rather than follow in his footsteps at that time, I entered the workforce in government (as it’s seemingly required of all Olympia residents!). There I gained valuable experience as support staff (office manager) and working with numbers (revenue specialist).
Being young and having taught myself the technical aspects of web design (self-taught – I’m a techie too!), the creative side of me wanted to try a creative career, and I was offered a position at Web.com as a writer and designer. Alas, after several years, I realized that a purely creative career does not satisfy my left-brain tendencies, although the fast-paced nature of the private sector truly agreed with me.
The last three years have been a return to my secret love: real estate and property management. As a portfolio manager, I regularly assessed properties for current conditions, oversaw remodeling contractors, collected estimates, managed operating budgets, talked with tenants, and communicated with owners on a regular basis. As a licensed real estate broker, I’m even more familiar with area properties and neighborhoods than ever before.
On a personal note, I may be a tenacious and hard-working person, but I’m also known for being easygoing, flexible, and very personable.
